I love my peace. Peace for me is the ability to live my life authentically to my values and truths.

I am also aware that others may think finding peace as a constant in life is selfish. And that is fair that they think that, but thankfully because I choose peace, I also do not care about an opinion they are entitled to have, that I don’t have to interact with.
Figuring out values as an adult
Figuring out your values as an adult takes time and life experiences. When you're young, the world can be a lot more sheltered than what you experience as an adult. So, your values might be a little skewed. But with time, different environments and just some self-reflection, you can gain clarity on what truly makes sense for you. Without the last part, how do you know what your values are?
Once you have them figured out, they can still change depending on what you're experiencing, and that's ok. They are your values, as long as they resonate with you and it feels right, honestly who cares? Also, with them figured out, you can make personal decisions with less concern that it's the "right" decision, because you know what is important for you in terms of the outcome, and the experience overall.
For example:
2 years ago I was very career driven. I wanted to progress really high, as quickly as possible, not just for the money but for the influence I could hopefully have in my industry, in that higher position.
2 years later, and now that I know I really do value my peace (and have worked in other environments), I know that if I were to progress as fast as I originally wanted, I wouldn't have as much flexibility on my time, and I'd probably be too tired to keep up with the blog and my other hobbies after a busy days work. If I progressed at the speed I wanted, it would've meant sacrificing space in my brain that I use for my whimsy and peace in life, to actually think about the industry I work in a lot more than I do now. (And I really don't want to do that).
And because I value peace, I have come to terms with the fact that, I don't get paid as much as my other peers who are more driven. And I clap for them, lowkey laugh at myself (in a fun way not a self-hatred way) and go on with my life, because that's practical for me.
I'm sure it's a strange view to have, but I'm ok with being strange.
Weekly reflection
Knowing what you value and prioritise, brings clarity on how you can/should live your life, and wouldn't we like a bit more clarity on how we live?
Have a lovely weekend,😊😊
